The below questions I quoted from
this link http://www.inc.com/geoffrey-james/10-questions-that-create-success.html
I’m just trying to answer it out ‘LOUD’ in italic
1. Have I made certain that those I love feel loved?
I think I have.. 🙂
2. Have I done something today that improved the world?
Imparted knowledge to the team so that they can perform better.. More productive world?

Started to walk up the stairs this month
4. Have I reviewed and honed my plans for the future?
Yep. Building my knowledge and skill gear towards that..
5. Have I acted in private with the same integrity I exhibit in public?
6. Have I avoided unkind words and deeds?
7. Have I accomplished something worthwhile?
Indeed. Drive the projects closer to the milestones.
8. Have I helped someone less fortunate?
Not yet today. Plan to..
9. Have I collected some wonderful memories?
Oh yes.. Beautiful smile of my 2 year old.
10. Have I felt grateful for the incredible gift of being alive?
Praise the God. I have been very much blessed.
Allow me to set the context..
Newton’s first laws of motion has it that “the velocity of a body remains constant unless the body is acted upon by an external force”.
So that books which collect dust will remain… as a dust collector.. Or that dumbbells will take permanent residency on your shelfs if nobody takes their time to lift and make good use of it.
It’s a start of the last of week of this year already. I can safely assume that we are way over from being ‘hung up’ by our so called new year resolution(s). Time to take a much practical (some might say skeptical) perspective.
But hold on, are we really going to give up that easy?
This is just the right time to revisit that law of motion..
If you feel or think that most of your resolutions are not ‘moving’, then we can simply say that there must have been not enough force acted upon them.
Internal force? External force? Perhaps both.
Roll the ball
I guess we must have heard the following quotes:
“Pay attention to your thoughts, because they become words. Pay attention to your words, because they become actions. Pay attention to your actions, because they become habits. Pay attention to your habits, because they become your character. Pay attention to your character, because it becomes your fate.”
So, how to start to roll the ball again..into full speed? Begin from your thoughts.. Visualize. That will be the GREAT force that moves you into your GOALS. ..and eventually your fate.
Have a prosperous year of Dragon!
1. Take a stock of the week’s hits and misses
Have a quick glance through your planner, diary, notebook or whatever tools you have to track your work progress.
2. Sprint the last meters!
You might have missed some low priorities tasks… Put the pedal to the metal! There’s still roughly 8 hours to catch up.
3.Review and plan for the following week
This might sound like a total no brainer. But do we actually take a concerted effort to follow through this with high discipline.
Let’s do it!
We can have a relaxing Chinese New Year Long Weekend..
Have a prosperous Dragon year!!!
You need to embrace your creative / right brain side.. I did that this weekend by revisiting my hobby of sketching with charcoal with my favorite still life drawing: the books.. Glad that I haven’t actually completely lost the touch..
For all its worth it’s a refreshing hobby that can (I hope) ‘rewire’ my right brain to think better.
Feel free to criticize the drawing..
“To listen well, is as powerful a means of influence as to talk well, and is as essential to all true conversation” from Chinese proverb
If we listen enough to our environment then we’ll figure out how to solve any problems. Listening enables us to correctly captures the real underlying cause(s).
Listen to your end customers.
Listen to your internal customers
Listen to your team.
Listen to your external environment.
Always challenge your ongoing assumptions by listening to … Only by knowing where they’re ‘coming from’ you can make sense of any person / situations.
And, oh by the way, this might sound contradictory.. You still need to be able to tell which one is noise and which one is the sound that you need listen to.. The challenge as the speaker or the sender of the message is that you need to not sound like a noise… Craft your message so that you do not sound like a mere noise.
In the final analysis
Try to strive to receive the message better but at the same time help out the other message receiver by sounding your idea to him/her in a systematical manner as well.
It’s the end of work-week again in this first month of the year.
I can safely say that it has been a productive week. If you plan the week well enough then rest assured that you can reap the result at the end of it.
So has today been a ‘scary’ Friday 13th? Nope. Not at all..
Plan it well. Execute it. Review it.
Enjoy the weekend folks!
